September 29th, Sevier County Sheriff's deputies noticed a blue pickup without a license plate on Tower Road and initiated a traffic stop.
When deputies Chet Stubbs and David Stinson approached the vehicle, they identified the driver as 23-year-old Patrick Weed of Gillham.
As Deputy Stubbs was running a background check, he noticed Deputy Stinson ask Weed to step out of the vehicle. According to the incident report, Weed allegedly told Stinson that he had a firearm in the vehicle.
While searching the vehicle, Stinson recovered a small handgun that was loaded and contained a live round in the chamber. Stinson also found a purple bag that contained a small clear plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine in it, a red straw that contained a white residue on the inside, a white straw that contained suspected cocaine and a small plastic bag of Q-tips.
Stinson also found a blue handkerchief that contained a glass smoking device.
Weed was arrested and charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver and a felony count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
