New Release

August 20th, Sevier County Sheriff's Deputy Kristen Reed was told to be on the lookout for a maroon car that was driving erratically and swerving back and forth on Highway 71.

When Reed located the vehicle, she witnessed it pass another vehicle, so she activated her lights, but the suspect didn't stop, so she then activated her siren.

When the driver pulled over, Reed noted 35-year-old James Samuels of Texarkana, Texas, was not wearing a seat belt.

Samuels failed the field sobriety test and was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. While interviewing Samuel, he allegedly informed Reed that he had used some meth earlier that day and that he had taken some Xanex pills.

Samuel was cited for driving left of the center line, driving on a suspended license, for not wearing a seat belt, for not have proof of insurance, driving while intoxicated on drugs and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
