New Release

GOING TO JAIL FOR LITTERING         9/6/17

Monday, Sevier County Sheriff's Department deputy Sergeant Greg Davignon observed a man standing in the back of a S-10 pickup on Dog Town Road. Davignon also noticed the front seat passenger was not wearing a seat belt, so he initiated a traffic stop.

However, when Davignon turned on his lights, something was tossed out of the back of the truck by the man that was standing in the truck bed.

The passenger in the back of the truck was identified as 48-year-old Alan Pearce of De Queen and the passenger in the front seat had two open beer cans in his lap.

When questioned about the object that tossed into the ditch, Pearce allegedly said he tossed a bag that contained drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Davignon then escorted Pearce back to the location where he had tossed the bag and recovered a bag that contained a glass pipe, marijuana, meth, Xanax pills and a metal marijuana pipe.

Pearce was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
